As far as comparison to Dark City, I guess you could say the alternate reality aspect and how sleep is a factor, even though that would be a stretch. The alternate reality of dreams in Inception and the actual reality of Dark City which occurs when everyone falls asleep. Maybe you're making the comparison because of the buildings rotating in the trailer (which is only a few seconds in the movie) and the way the city in Dark City is manipulated by the aliens.

Inception will fall in the imdb list eventually. It's just new. Look at toy story 3 at number 12 all time. Do you think that will last?

So I've noticed a lot of fanboyism over Inception recently. I haven't seen it, I really don't know what to think of it though I'm sure at the very least it's entertaining to watch. I guess it just annoys me to see people going crazy over something and not properly acknowledging the things it's derivative of. Frankly when I saw the trailer it reminded me of Dark City, which I'm sure most of the folks who voted it to the top ten of the IMDB's top 250 list have never seen (not that I put much stock in the Top 250 list).

Anybody seen it? is it worth forking over whatever money they charge at the cinema these days?
