Requesting "A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier" by Ishmael Beah. It's about freakin 13 year old kids beating the shit out of everyone and getting addicted to crack so they can fight in a war. It's a crazy book and sounds totally fuckin awesome and really sick at the same time. Was wondering if any of you /lit/ fags had it or could direct me to those who do. It's out in hardcover but that shits expensive and most of the bookstores are out of it where I live. Paperback comes out in august but I don't want to wait for that.

Allright, I'm here to tell you how you can get all the books you'll ever need. This little gem's gotten me every book I've ever tried to get out of it.

Allright, First you need IRC, You shouldn't need help with this. If you do, Google IRC.

Server: irc.undernet.org
Channel: #bookz

I reccomend you type !help and read the file sent to you.

The basic idea is if you're looking for a specific book title, type @find <titleofthebook>, @find <nameoftheauthor>, a combination of the two, or @find <anyword(s)youlike>. Servers will give you answers if they have any file that responds to your criteria

So basically search your book, Get the results and paste the result you want in the channel, A few seconds later it should be sent to you.
Filetypes vary from .txt to .doc to .pdf to .chm and allmost anything.

Sorry if this is vague, I haven't slept in a while. Also, #Bookz help file attached for your convenience.

I've read this and really liked it. It's a mix of autobiography that's kind of humorous and how-to on how to write and get published. It's an easy and interesting read even if you're not an aspiring writer. He was writing this book when he was struck by that van a few years back and relates and tells the story of that too.

Yeah, really newfaggy.

Basically, they've just used the copy /b command in Command Prompt. Download 7zip or WinRAR.

If you download 7zip, save the pictures then Right Click>7Zip>Open Archive
If you download WinRAR save the pictures then Right Click>Open With>Choose Program>WinRAR

If you want to do it, get a .jpg image and a .rar archive, put them in C: then go Start Menu>Run>cmd
In cmd type cd.. a few times until C: is set as the directory. Then type copy /b file1.filetype + file2.filetype outputfile.jpg
It helps if they're the same thing.

EG:
copy /b 1234.jpg + 1234.rar 1234.jpg

That will hide a .rar archive in the jpg image. There are two ways to access the archive.
1) Change the file name from "1234.jpg" to "1234.rar" and then open(Not recommended)
2) Right click as instructed above.

Okay, this link has links to over 200 'Dummies' books on RS. And check this out, it's a post on a Filipino Airsoft message board. I know right?
It's a little weird because the downloads are grouped together. For example Cake Decorating, Cameras, and Chinese for dummies are all together in one download (separate pdf's). They're all in alphabetical order like that. You'll figure it out. After all, you're no dummy ;)

I watched parts of 3 episodes and frankly I just didn't care for it. Although some of the history and facts are interesting, it seems geared towards people with no understanding of economics and at times conveys not so subliminal hints at blame for the recent downturns without any factual basis. I'm an American conservative who minored in economics so take that with salt as needed. I would like to recommend to someone interested in recent economics(and some history) the Planet Money podcasts on NPR. It's done by a younger group like us and is pretty entertaining for an economics show.

The Tassajara Bread Book. Very fun and useful book, written by Edward Espe Brown, a zen "priest" ordained by Shunryu Suzuki. This book goes about teaching you breadmaking by helping you understand the fundamentals of what is actually happening, rather than just giving you recipe after recipe. "teach a man to fish, etc."

Hope you like it, /lit/! I can't imagine ever buying bread again, unless it was an emergency of some kind (?).

this is my first post in /lit/ so i dont know the rules quite yet.

anywayyy when I was around 14 I remember I read a book that's about 2 brothers that went their seperate way after their mother died. They both went on a journey and after a few weeks they'd always bump in to each other

One became a thief and the other one became a journeyman i'm not sure about this though -- at one point the thief steals something from the king and was prosecuted. There was hes brother to save him, etc.

I really don't remember which book this is, i hope you can help me.

Hi! It is the first time I post here, altought I've been passing here from time to time to find new books =)

Well, I'm posting now to ask for some books from the list on the post 6668. I'd like to have the books from Marie Brennan, Flashforward from Robert J. Sawyer. Please! And thanks =)

I don't have many books on pdf and the ones I have are mostly fantasy from recent authors. Or from movie adaptations. I'm posting one that I found on a site, called Poison Study, the book one from the Study Trilogy. I have the other two, so if anyone wants it just ask!
