No. 573598
I've been meaning to find a cheap, low-profile, no-frills, sturdy pocketknife for everyday cutting purposes that I'm not liable to injure myself with. I have a small sharp whittling knife somewhere (relic of a whittling class I took years ago), but I haven't really whittled since. I've also got a few rusty, old family-heirloom type pocket knives floating around somewhere; but I'd hesitate to use them for that reason.
What I do carry is a virtually indestructible German-made molybdenum-steel fruit knife (sheepsfoot blade). We used to leave it out in the garden to harvest produce with (stuck in the ground, no less). It's been in the outer pocket of my backpack for several months. It's dull enough that I've never cut myself (and it has not cut through the fabric either); but it has been handy for cutting up food on the fly, prying, opening, scraping, etc.
So, any suggestions? I'm prone to losing things, so cheap-and-easy-to-replace would be preferable.
